🦋 英語の長い文章を読む方法
→ 関係代名詞 who / which / 関係副詞 where …
英語では、重要な単語である主語が出てきたら、そのすぐ後に**述語(動作・状態)**が出てくる。
Example.
「私はその男性を見た」
→ I saw the man.
「私はおもちゃを買った」
→ I bought a toy.
who — 人(前にある「人」を説明するとき)
which — 物・動物(前にある「物・動物」を説明するとき)
where — 場所(前にある「場所」を説明するとき)
1. I saw the man who is handsome.
(その男性はハンサムだ)
→ ネイティブの感覚でつなげて考える
I saw
↓
「何を?」→ the man
↓
「どんな男性?」
↓
who(その男性について説明する)
↓
is handsome(ハンサムだ)
つまり、
I saw → the man → who → is handsome
と、前から順番に少しずつ情報を追加していく。
2. I bought a bag which was expensive.
→ 「私はバッグを買った。
そのバッグなんだけど、けっこう高かったんだよね?」
☆ The man who I met yesterday was wearing glasses.
→ 「その男性は、私が昨日会った男性で、眼鏡をかけていた。」
☆ I saw a cat which was sleeping on my car.
→ 「私は、私の車の上で寝ている猫を見た。」
☆ I know a woman who has son who play soccer in the park where we exercise every morning.
→ 「私はある女性を知っている。
その女性には息子がいて、
その息子はサッカーをしているんだって。
ほら、私たちが毎朝運動しているあの公園で。」
→ who = その女性を説明している
→ who = その息子を説明している
→ 「その公園なんだけど、私たちが毎朝運動しているところ」
→ where = 場所を説明している
☆ 「NASAで働いている女性の兄弟を知っている男性を、私は知っている」
I know a guy who has a sister who works at NASA.

🌱 まとめメモ
→ 英語はzoom in(ズームイン)するように読んでいく。
→ 関係代名詞が出てきたからといって、そこで線を引いて、その後ろの文章をいったん全部読んでから戻る、という読み方をしない。
前から順番に、少しずつ情報を追加していく。

② WHICH — 物や動物を説明するとき
1. I bought a book which was very interesting.
→ 私は本を買った。
→ 「どんな本?」
→ とても面白い本。
I bought → a book → which → was very interesting
2. I saw a dog which was sleeping under the table.
→ 私は犬を見た。
→ 「どんな犬?」
→ テーブルの下で寝ていた犬。
I saw → a dog → which → was sleeping under the table
③ WHERE — 場所を説明するとき
1. I visited a cafe where we can see the ocean.
→ 私はカフェに行った。
→ 「どんなカフェ?」
→ 私たちが海を見ることができるカフェ。
I visited → a cafe → where → we can see the ocean
2. I know a park where many people exercise every morning.
→ 私はある公園を知っている。
→ 「どんな公園?」
→ 毎朝、たくさんの人が運動する公園。

1.
I met a woman who has a son who studies art at a university in Tokyo.
→ 私はある女性に会った。
→ その女性には息子がいて、
→ その息子は東京のある大学で美術を勉強している。

2.
I bought a painting which was created by an artist who lives in a small town where many artists gather.
→ 私は絵を一枚買った。
→ その絵は、ある画家によって制作されたもので、
→ その画家は小さな町に住んでいて、
→ その町にはたくさんの画家が集まっている。
I bought → a painting → which was created by an artist → who lives in a small town → where many artists gather
これは which → who → where が一つの文章の中に全部入っているから、とてもいい練習になる文章だよ。
3.
I know a man who works at a gallery which represents several artists who create paintings inspired by traditional Korean culture.
→ 私はある男性を知っている。
→ その男性はギャラリーで働いていて、
→ そのギャラリーは何人かの画家を代表していて、
→ その画家たちは韓国の伝統文化からインスピレーションを受けた絵を描いている。
I know → a man → who works at a gallery → which represents several artists → who create paintings → inspired by traditional Korean culture
特に3番は、関係代名詞の後ろに、さらに別の関係代名詞が入っている構造だから、今勉強した「zoom in」の読み方を練習するのにすごくいい文章だよ。
名詞 → who / which → 新しい情報 → who / which → さらに新しい情報
という感じで、どんどんズームインするように情報を広げていけばいいよ。🌱

영어는 중요한 단어(주어)나오고 바로 서술어(동작, 상태)가 튀어나온다
Example.
‘나는 그 남자를 봤어’
→ I saw the man
‘나는 장난감을 샀어’
→ I bought a toy.
who — 사람 (앞에 사람을 꾸밀 때)
which — 그것( 그걸 꾸밀 때)
where — 장소 (그 장소를 꾸밀 때)
- I saw the man who is handsome.
(그 남자가 잘생겼어)
→ 원어민 사고 연결
I saw [그게 어때? — 결론부터 현재 궁금하지 않기]
↓
(뭘?) the man [뭘? — 남자]
↓
아니 근데 그 남자가 뭐야 → who (남자를 꾸밈)
↓
잘생겼다고 → is handsome
I saw → the man → who → is handsome
- I bought a bag which was expensive.
→ 내가 가방 샀어. 그런데 비싸더라구?

특히 3번은 관계대명사 뒤에 또 다른 관계대명사가 들어가는 구조라서, 지금 배운 zoom in 독해 연습에 꽤 좋아.
명사 → who/which → 새로운 명사 → who/which → 새로운 정보 식으로 계속 확대해 나가면 돼. 🌱
