Who are you, oil on canvas, 130.3x 97.0cm, 2023

Won: Who are you? I am Won, nice to meet you on my journey. Black Shell, you are in chaotic water. What has happened to you lately? I don't know what you are struggling with, but let's talk about it. I'll invite you into my world. Maybe we can help each other.

Dive to the gate, oil on canvas, 100.0 x 80.3cm, 2023

Won: Black Shell, I accept your experience through your stories, just accept it. When you speak of your experiences, I believe you. I accept you. I believe in you. Shell, I invite you into my world. Let us see other things together. Let's go places together that we haven't experienced yet. It will be fun.

Interface, oil on canvas, 53.0 x 80.3cm, 2023

The black Shell and the won are resonating with each other. Their eyes are like a pair of windows, looking into each other and sensing the memories within. Through this resonance, they realize that the other person is not harmful. They feel safe and adjust to each other. And at this moment, Black Shell unconsciously realizes that she will be seeing Won for a long time.

Interconnect, oil on canvas, 116.8 x 91.0cm, 2024

Won: Black Shell, I have a proposal for you. I want to take you to a new place, to a more beautiful and free space. It won't hurt you, it might even heal you. Will you trust me and come with me? It will definitely be fun when we are together. Let's escape the chaos and plunge into a world of fun and warmth.

Give your consent, oil on canvas, 91.3 x 117.3cm, 2024

Wake up, Black Shell. We've arrived at a new place. The moment I beckoned to you, whispering of our journey to uncharted realms, stirring something within you, we've already arrived. Come with me. We stand at the unknown to you, one you've yet to explore, to feel. And from here, we will venture even further. Yet, know that my intentions and our arrival alone cannot change your world. I cannot shape your destiny without your agreement. Grant me your consent. Speak to me. Reveal your heart.

Cleansing, oil on canvas, 29.6 x 43.0cm, 2024

Certain conditions are necessary to step out of the old world and enter a new one. We should break free from the notions that have bound us in the past. Let's break free from the shackles of preconceptions about who we are, what we're supposed to be, and how others perceive us. Let's liberate ourselves from old patterns and welcome fresh ones. Let's embrace the new and the bright. Let's go to a new place.

I accept, oil on canvas, 43.0 x 29.5cm, 2024

I will embrace the new flow. To navigate the new life. Though I may feel fragile, I choose to move forward with hope rather than succumb to fear. I am in control of my destiny. To walk toward the distant horizon. Hand in hand with you, I will embrace profound inner change to reshape reality.

So, come alongside me. Hold on to me. Don't let go of me. Because together we can walk anywhere.

To whisper, oil on canvas, 112.1 x 145.5cm, 2024

It was very still there. They lay still, like the wings of a newborn butterfly, wet and waiting to dry. In the twilight, their bodies glowed silver like blades of grass. They stirred gently and looked at each other. "I'm relaxed now," said Won. "I don't know what to do now," muttered the black shell. "Just be like me now and feel everything as it is. Just lie down here on the earth and breathe with the grass, and the dew will fall on them and on you, and then it will disperse back into the air, and enjoy every moment of it." Won closed her eyes, slowly savouring the air.

To soar, oil on canvas, 53.0 x 100.0cm, 2024

First we walked. Won said let's walk as if we were singing. I walked faster than before. Then they started to jump as if they were in rhythm. Black Shell was afraid would fall, but she followed Won's lead. They began to run as if they were flying. They ran like a child running with excitement. Black Shell felt like she was spreading her wings and flying.

To flip, oil on canvas, 50.0 x 183.5cm, 2024

“My toes feel damp. The dirt and the moss are moist. What if there is something down there?” said Blackshell.

“The dirt is full of life. They share this world with us. Don't be afraid.” Said Won.

“Do you see those big leaves over there?”

“Yes, I do. They're wide, like a fan.”

“Let's dive into them.”

“What if we get hurt?”

“It's okay. They'll protect us. And once you get used to them, you'll smell the fresh, green scent. Breathe in and out.” “Yes. Breathe in and out slowly. Slowly and deeply…”

Into the secret garden, oil on canvas, 112.1x 145.5cm, 2024

They spotted a place where the vines curved into an arch that looked like it could lead into a deep space beyond.

‘There's a place that looks like an entrance.’

‘That's right, let's go in there.’

‘It sounds blue and smells sweet.’

‘We'll find a hidden story here.’

‘Won, did you know this place?’

‘I've never seen this place before. I'm just discovering it for the first time with you, but I have a feeling that we're going to have a mystical experience here.’

‘I'm a little nervous and excited.’

‘It is natural to be nervous before entering an unfamiliar place. But isn't it also exciting? We are discovering the unknown. We will be following our intuition and instinct there without being bound by rules or boundaries and soon we will face endless possibilities. And in the process of turning those possibilities into reality, we will achieve innovation and ingenuity.’

Can you hear me, oil on canvas, 43.0x29.6cm, 2024

Do you hear my voice over there? I am a fairy. I am a seashell, carrying the whispers of the sea within me. Put your ear to me, and you will feel the sea, the cradle of life.

There was a sound of wind rustling in the reeds, or rather, waves crashing. When we approached the sound, there was a clam. A clam would have a pearl inside, but this one itself shimmered with a pearlescent glow.

Open the sea shell, oil on canvas, 80.0 x 63.0cm, 2024

It was an unusual clam, unlike any we’d ever seen before. When we pried it open, the shell split cleanly into two halves—top and bottom—revealing a small, glistening bead nestled within. To our astonishment, a cheerful melody burst forth, filling the air with its resonance. We leaned closer, straining to catch the words:

“Places you’ve forgotten, places you’ve lost,

Places you’re going, places you must.

Places not ready, but one day you’ll know—

Keep moving forward, and watch how you grow”

The clam’s song spread outward, its notes sparkling in every direction like radiant, multicolored firecrackers

Fairy sea shell, oil on canvas, 20.0 x 20.0cm, 2024

The Fairy Clam is a magical creature featured in The Adventures of Black Shell and Won. Its shell gleams with a mesmerizing, pearlescent sheen. It has an enchanting appearance to captivate two characters in the adventure. When they open the clam, it begins to sing a beautiful melody. The lyrics are foretelling events yet to come. Black Shell is overcome by a peculiar sense of nostalgia as though the song echoes fragments of life she has already lived or is destined to encounter in the future

Won and Blackshell looked at the clam, now split cleanly into two halves. They stepped closer, each picking up a piece to inspect. It was a clam, but it didn't smell fishy. Rather, they smelled like a fragrant candy, a delicate blend of jasmine and sugar. They brought the clam shells closer to their faces, savoring the sweet scent. Before long, they burst into laughter, catching sight of each other and realizing they looked like they were wearing seashell masks.

Balancing with feathers, 80.3 x 100.0cm, oil on canvas, 2025

Look at this feather. It is enormous- could a big bird be nearby? They tried to pick it up, but the feather was far heavier than they had imagined, making them off balance. Picking it up felt as though a gust of wind pushed back against them with incredible force. Then, an idea sparked in their minds.

“You know what?”

“Huh?”

“If we can handle something this heavy, maybe we can control anything we want!”

“That’s actually pretty plausible.”

“We could become gravity magicians!”

“That sounds interesting. Why don’t we try balancing on this feather?”

Fairy feather, oil on panel, 25.5 x 25.5cm, 2025

These fairy feathers appear in The Adventures of Black Shell and Won. These feathers are vividly colored and delicately textured, giving the illusion of weightlessness, as though they defy gravity.  Yet, paradoxically, they are incredibly heavy—comparable to lifting dumbbells in the real world. This odd feature fascinates Won and Black Shell, inspiring them to use these feathers to play balancing games. By coordinating their movements while holding these feathers, they try to balance. Over time, they find stable balance and harmony in various positions without the feathers.

Unison or balance, 117.0x72.5cm, oil on canvas, 2025

Won and Black Shell, guided by the fairy feather, become attuned to finding a balance with their bodies. At first, they use the feather to find their balance, but over time, they rely solely on each other instead. They start in perfect symmetry, mirroring one another, then gradually making subtle adjustments to their poses. As if in a silent conversation, their bodies exchange energy, guiding one another, moving together in a harmonious rhythm, like a breath shared between them.
