‘Seething pink’ Artist Ayuna's 4th solo exhibition

 <Seething pink>

 Shell is a pink-haired persona born from the sea, symbolizing life, abundance, regeneration, and love. Shell's name comes from scallops, which are washed and worn by the sea, giving them a shiny, beautiful surface. The scallop embodies the cycles of nature over eons and has long been a mythological symbol of life and death. It is also a symbol of spiritual healing, salvation, and sublimity for pilgrims, and is associated with Venus, the goddess of life and love. Shells represent mystical aspirations. She tells us that love is the most important virtue for us in this moment, and that now, more than ever, love is the hope that can save us. Love, she says, is connected to all emotions. Meaning arises when our lives intersect in a myriad of relationships. When we make the effort to understand each other, we feel more connected, more empathetic, and more joyful. Our self-esteem is enhanced by the understanding and empathy of the other person, and we grow out of the infantile form of just wanting to be loved and cultivate actively loving  ourselves and others. True love further develops the capacity to love, which leads to more mature relationships. Thus, the two souls do not think or speak, but only feel and know. The love that Shell conveys enriches the vibrancy of our lives encouraging us to thrive. In this process, joy grows, every moment becomes colorful and rich, and finally, one's world begins to grow larger and we are reborn anew. Realizing, a priori, that love makes so many things possible, Shell hopes to bring more love into the world.

The theme of the exhibition is Shell herself. In winter, when daylight hours are shortest, it is freezing, all life fades, the impulse to vanish grows stronger. In the deep shadow of the season, all the living things grow dark and the time of YIN arrives. Soon, darkened selves close their eyes and start to fall into destructive and violent thoughts. And next to this instinct of death is the instinct of life. Like the waxing and waning of the moon, life and death cycle, and next to Thanatos is Eros.  As time goes by, spring will naturally come after winter, but this winter, which seems to be unusually long, is so cold and harsh that we consciously summon spring. Shell is essential to this sacred ritual of thawing the frozen winter and bringing forth the joy of spring. Shell is hope itself, a prayer for love and abundance, invoking the cycle of life. The viewer is invited to go on a spiritual pilgrimage with Shell, pushing through their subconscious fears and anxieties about love through the story she tells and the understanding of her origins. By resonating with these intuitive ideas, we will break free from isolation and avoidance of the outer and inner worlds to capture what our souls truly desire and enjoy balance in our lives. 'Shell' will bring outward the hope that already exists within us, but has been dimmed: good things are about to happen. What is meant to be will be.
