‘A Thing of Beauty Is a Joy Forever’ by John Keats 

 It is the line from the poem ‘Endymion’ by John Keats, one of my favorites. It had a huge impact on me. I inevitably see beauty in any moment and those dazzling moments give me comfort. I also have the desire, engraved in my head, to create something that lasts forever. It is important that my intentions or the message are delivered through my artwork but I also want to give the viewer visual pleasure. So, it is very important for me to maintain a balance between the conceptual parts and the aesthetic appeal of the artwork.

‘아름다운 것은 영원한 기쁨이다’ 제가 좋아하는 존 키츠 시인의 시집 ‘엔디미온’에 나오는 시구입니다. 이 문장은 제게 많은 영향을 미쳤어요. 저는 필연적으로 어떠한 순간에도 아름다움을 포착하게 되고 그 찬란함으로부터 많은 위로를 받습니다. 그리고 저 또한 사라지지 않는 무언가를 만들고 싶다는 열망이 머릿속에 새겨져 있습니다. 제가 작품으로 전달하고자 하는 의도나 내용도 중요하지만, 일단은 보는 이에게 시각적인 즐거움을 주고 싶다는 생각을 하며 그림을 그립니다. 그래서 제 작품의 개념과 시각적인 유희 중 어느 하나가 기울어지지 않게 밸런스를 잡는 게 제겐 무척 중요해요.
